Senate Republicans may seek a vote on their healthcare bill even if they think it's likely to fail, CNN is reporting.

That's because the issue could endanger other high-priority items on the party's to-do list, according to former HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt (R), who is now a consultant on healthcare policy.
"There's some skepticism as to whether they can get [healthcare] done. And they don't want to waste the rest of the legislative year," Leavitt said.
Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) also stressed the importance of trying to pass a bill in the next few weeks, even if the vote fails.
